Jack Rowberry is a Scottish artist who has been on the music scene for 8 years now, he has released multiple singles and an EP. Each of Rowberry’s releases are better than the last, his experience with songwriting benefits him massively. His new single released on the 27th of June 2025 titled ‘C’est La Vie’ is a track that seems heartbreaking at first listen, but when looking past the surface it provides a hopeful outlook on life, reminding us to leave behind our inhibitions and let go of what we cannot control.
‘C’est La Vie’ is a simplistic and beautiful single which highlights Rowberry’s emotional lyricism that makes him stand out from the masses, and focuses on the tough realisation that life takes unexpected turns which force you through tough decisions and hardships.
The track features a simple instrumental part which compliments the song well and accentuates the vibe perfectly, a vibe, Rowberry states is inspired by Foy Vance’s song ‘Make it Rain’. He displays his instrumental talent in a guitar solo, which gives audiences time to reflect on the powerful lyrics. He also takes everything into account when writing his songs, from tentative breaks in the lyrics to the backing vocals that perfectly compliment his voice.
This single has a chilled out and soulful feeling to it, perfect for fans of Fleetwood Mac, Zach Bryan and Bon Iver. Jack Rowberry’s rise to fame is becoming more prevalent with his increasingly popular performances, most notably his support for bands such as: Razorlight and Ocean Colour Scene.
Overall, Jack Rowberry ties together his instrumental work and lyrical talent, in this song that displays multiple complex musical concepts and remarkable vocal work, in a captivating and inspired new single.
