This December, Portobello Town Hall transformed into beloved pantomime magic with the help of Stage Door Entertainment! For the third year the panto is met with excitement to see what they can bring, this year with no exception is “Beauty and The Beast”.

What sets this story different from the beloved original storytelling is the creative twists and turns that make local theatre so unique. The audience is swept in the moment the lights come up, it’s nothing but a heart-warming moment to feel a part of.

A standout element of this year’s production is the cast themselves. Each cast member brings their own sparkle and unique take on the performance, adding personality, humour, and individuality to every scene. Together, they create a lively, dynamic atmosphere that keeps the audience engaged from start to finish.

One of the most memorable moments was the creative element of using seasons as part of their story. Angus as the Prince of Summer brings, warmth, comforting and charm to the opening which becomes a major impact on his transformation to the Beast. Contrasting him is Biera cold, bitter command brings a perfect balance of contrast between them both. The contrast between summer and winter is a creative and unique combination that was done with grace and perfection.

In conclusion, this year’s “Beauty and The Beast” is a heartfelt celebration of creativity, community, and performance. I may be biased about panto because I love a theatre show, but even my plus one, who isn’t usually a fan, absolutely loved it. With its talented cast and genuine passion for theatre, Stage Door Entertainment once again delivers a magical experience that leaves audiences smiling long after the final bow.
