Tenement Trail Returns to Glasgow next week! Here’s what to expect…

Words: Toni Faulds

Tenement Trail returns to Glasgow on Saturday 10 October, bringing a full day of live music to venues across the city with an incredible selection of artists, Tenement Trail has previously held some HUGE artists, helping them get where they are now, including artists such as Lewis Capaldi, Sam Fender, Yungblud and Pale Waves, this is an event to not miss out on.

With a line-up featuring a mix of established acts and emerging artists, the festival offers something for everyone, whether you’re heading along to see familiar names or looking to discover your next favourite band. Tenement Trail is a full day festival set across 7 different venues! So there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Participating venues include; The Barrowlands, Barrowland 2, St Luke’s, Van Winkle, BaaD, 226 Gallowgate and Mcchuils.

BAaD is set to host a range of prominent names in the current scene, including Brògeal, Tom A Smith and The Joy Hotel, alongside artists such as Dice and Pixie McCann. A standout from the lineup in BAaD is definitely The Joy Hotel, with their new album release only a few months away, I strongly suggest checking these guys out! Across the rest of the city, The other venues that are involved will host their own line-ups, with plenty of upcoming and established artists to catch throughout the day.

Baby Strange, The Ninth Wave and Cliffords are among the acts playing Barrowlands, while The Orielles and Willie J Healey feature on the bill at St Luke’s. Elsewhere, smaller venues will give audiences the chance to catch artists they might not have come across before, making Tenement Trail a good opportunity to explore Glasgow’s music scene beyond the usual names.

With performances starting from 2PM and continuing into the early hours, there’s plenty of time to move between venues and catch a bit of everything. McChuills (the only 18+ venue) will host a late-night programme, including sets from Diva Down, Quality Control and Lupercalia, as well as two secret Club Sabbath sets.

As with any multi-venue festival, there will inevitably be a few clashes, so it’s worth checking the schedule ahead of time. But with so many artists playing across the city, there’s also plenty of room to be spontaneous and discover someone new along the way.
Tenement Trail takes place on Saturday 10 October, with the box office opening at 1pm. Whether you’re there to find your next favourite among the emerging names or just there to support the east end music scene, the festival offers a full day of live music across some of Glasgow’s best venues.
